All of our Naturalist tours are led by an ACA certified guide and the Director of Marine Education from the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies and support their education program.
2013 Kayak Tour Dates
July 2, 8, 16 and 23rd
August 6, 14, 20 and 27th
(Tour dates may be adjusted or added depending on the weather and amount of reservations.)

- One and two person cockpit-style/sit-inside kayaks are used for our tours
- Times vary. Tours are 2 hours long and are usually in the afternoon.
- Please arrive about 20 minutes before the tour to fill out your paperwork and prepare
- You can leave anything you need to in the shop and we have dry bags if you want to take anything with you
- Plan to wear fast-drying clothing (preferably not cotton) and bring a wind breaker or microfleece
- Private tours, corporate rentals, lessons and tours by appointment are available- just ask!
I’d like to make a reservation for 2 for the July 1st Naturalist tour, 6-8pm. Pat Cohen, Liz Snow. I’l be arriving in Provincetown on June 26th. Can I assume that if it rains the trip is cancelled? We’d rather not go in inclement weather. Let me know payment details and where to meet. Thanks.

Hi Pat- Great! Our policy is safety = fun, so we definitely are not going to to take you out if the weather is bad. In fact, we had to cancel tonight’s tour due to high winds and a potential thunderstorm coming in. Our deposit policy is under the “Reservations” section of our site, but, in a nutshell, you do receive a refund of your 50% deposit if we cancel due to inclement weather. You can call us at 508-487-9442 between 9 am and 6 pm and we can take a credit card over the phone and get your information. Or, you can stop by when you get into town. For the tour, you should arrive at the shop at 237 Commercial about 20 minutes before the tour and we leave right from the beach in front of our shop. Talk to you soon, Elisabeth

do you have a Naturalist tour schedule for July 2nd? If so what are the time frame? I have 4 maybe 5 ppl that will attend the tour. Also where can i go to find out more about the Naturalist tour?
Hi- The next Naturalist Tour is on July 12th. The weekend of July 2nd is really busy for us and we have the Fireworks Tour on the 4th, so we are not able to do a Naturalist Tour that week. They are led by the Director of Education from the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies and support their education program. They usually leave between 5 and 6pm and tour Provincetown Harbor. If you are not able to go on a tour, I hope you will consider coming in and renting on your own. We will give you as much instruction as you need to get going if you are beginners. We are already getting reservations for that weekend, so it’s a good idea to book as soon as you can. Hope you have a great visit to Provincetown! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Do you have an age limit for either full moon or fireworks tour? Will you do a double kayak for either?
Hi Denise- Sorry, we somehow missed your question. We do have double kayaks and we don’t have an “official” age limit, but I think the youngest person who has gone out with us was about 14. Experience and physical strength would effect our decision about whether or not it would be safe for them. Hope that helps!
I am coming to Ptown for family week and am interested in one of the full moon tours. I have my own kayak (12′ sit inside wilderness pungo) that I was going to bring but my partner would need to rent. Does my kayak sound appropriate for the water? Is there parking near the shop where I could unload my own kayak to join the tour?
Hi- Thanks for you interest in our tour. Unfortunately, our insurance only covers our equipment, so we can not use any other kayaks on our tours. Hope you understand. Thanks again!
